Arrival in Lome.

Transfer to the hotel.

Today, we have a city tour of the capital of Togo – Lomé, the only African
city which was a colony of the French, the Germans and the British. As a result, the city became a unique blend of cultures and traditions of this region. We will visit:

The colonial buildings in the administrative quarter.

Voodoo market. The fetish market in Lome is the world’s largest voodoo market. Voodoo has a long trdaiotion in Togo. Here you can find all the necessary ingredients for magical voodoo rituals. Voodoo dolls, monkey heads, animal’s skulls, crocodiles are the common things here.

The central market with its famous “Nana Benz”, the market with expensive fabrics and clothing coming from Europe and sold all over West Africa.

Evening. Cooking class. You can take part in cooking your dinner with professional chef, discover local products and ingridients, cooking techniques. Also you can have a rest and meet the group after the master class and have dinner together.

Many places performs live music in the city: reggae, jazz, African music. Let’s follow the rhythm with local guide to discover the vibrant Lomé by night!

Today, we embark on a journey through the country of Togo. We will head northward. From Lome to Sokodé (320 km).

On the way we will visit city Atakpame. This region is the center of important cotton-growing area. People here make the famous brightly coloured fabric called “Kente” on small weaving looms. The main occupation of the local residents is agriculture, including the cultivation of cotton, coffee, and cocoa.

We continue moving northward. Along the way, we will make stops in picturesque villages and markets.

We will arrive in Sokode late in the afternoon.

Fire dance in the evening. We will see the impressive fire dance ritual and try to understand more about this unique tradition.
